The European Opera Centre’s next project is Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and culminates in performances on 10 and 12 March 2023 with Sir Bryn Terfel, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic conducted by Domingo Hindoyan.
This dramatized version is directed by the distinguished French actor and stage director Bernard Rozet.
Sir Bryn Terfel will perform the title role.
All other principal roles (except Gherardino) will be taken by European Opera Centre singers. The opera will be sung in the original Italian. There are roles for a range of voice types.
Those cast as Pinellino and Guccio are to be offered the additional opportunity to study the role of Gianni Schicchi.
The project will take place in Liverpool, UK. It is suitable for singers of high talent starting a professional career in opera and is open to all nationalities.
Singers selected for the project will receive accommodation, reimbursement of travel costs to and from Liverpool, and a bursary towards living costs.

To avoid unnecessary travel costs, in the first instance, all those interested in the Gianni Schicchi Project are invited to send the following:

All applications will be evaluated by Laurent Pillot, the Centre's Head of Singer Development and Artistic Programme Advisor, who may then invite selected singers and repetiteurs to a live audition.
Selected repetiteurs are occasionally given the opportunity to act as assistant conductor.
